Graphics & Sprites
The following are some sites with graphic and sprite
(including extracted/ripped ones from games) resources as well as tools that I have collected.
Ripped Game Sprites
These resources features sprites and graphics that have been
ripped from games.
-
Tatakau
Not bad site with ripped game sprites. They have Famicom/Nintendo, Super
Famicom/Super Nintendo & Neo Geo game sprites. They have over 2,000 images
from over 90 games.
-
GSA:
Game Sprite Archive
They have all sorts of game sprites from numerous platforms, including some
sprite made by custom sprite artists.
-
RPG Icons
Archive
Another great resource for sprites. The games covered by this site range from
classic SNES, Genesis and NES games to relatively recent PSX games.
Smilies/Smileys/Emoticons
These are little graphics (typically little) that are used to
express emotion. The following sites feature a collection of them.
Online Graphic Tools
These tools do not have to be downloaded.
-
GifWorks
It's an online image editor! It has some effects/filters, can create
text, optimization tools, and can use an uploaded image.
-
CoolText.com
Make cool looking text with text effects. Similar to FlamingText.com but has
new effects.
-
FlamingText.com
Another site to create text with effects.
Third Party Graphics Tools
These are tools you can use to edit and create graphics with.
-
Adobe
Photoshop
Great program with lots of features such as filters despite its approximate
$600 USD price tag.
-
Paint Shop
Pro
If you can't afford the price tag for Adobe Photoshop, get this. The price tag
is only $99 USD (as of 4/14/2003) and is a much great bargain. It also loads
up faster (Photoshop has taken minutes to load and locks up my computer for
15-30 seconds while it load fonts).
