Does that kind of guy exist? If he does, he’s a pretty rare breed.

In fact, breeders would probably make a fortune by mating him to create a super species of man…

Now that’s an idea!

I’ve come to the conclusion recently, though, that perfection is a myth. It’s a fallacy designed to make us unhappy with our lot – and when you stop to think about it, this makes a lot of sense.

Imagine if you weren’t bombarded with the usual messages about finding “the one”. Y’know, someone who’s “perfect” for you.

What if it’s all a load of rubbish?

Would this shatter thousands of businesses around the world who are trading on the premise that there is a perfect mate for everyone?

Don’t get me wrong, I believe there IS someone for everyone – but as for them being perfect? No way!

I’m still on the hunt for my ideal man, even though I know he doesn’t exist. I’ve even given myself a makeover, invested in some natural shampoo to enhance my unruly mop and bought myself a whole batch of new makeup.

Who knows if it’ll work but I’ll keep on trying!

I’ll keep you updated.

Finding Mr. Right

I’ve been having a bit of a nightmare recently. I’m coming to the age where many of my friends are getting engaged – urgh – or married – urgh – or having children – unthinkable. And this means a round robin of parties, church ceremonies and plenty of awkward questions about my own relationship status.

My circle of friends is actually quite small and, with many of them beginning to settle down, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to meet potential boyfriends. It’s not a massive issue in my life right now (I’m only 23!) but it saves having the same conversation regarding my singleness at every gathering.

Meeting people at work can also be quite challenging as my business is intrinsically social, but I’m always running around like a headless chicken preparing other peoples’ events – and a sweaty, beetroot head is NOT a good look.

Recently I’ve been inclined to look on dating websites such as match.com and eHarmony in the hope of hooking up with someone who shares the same interests as me and maybe, just maybe, is not obsessed with settling down and having an army of kids!

Also, as I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, I’ve been trawling the social networking sites, Badoo in particular, in the search for a humorous guy to drag along to yet another wedding. It’s been a successful adventure so far and I’ve had a lot of fun in the process.

It relieves me of the annoying ‘where’s your date?’ interrogation that seems to follow me anywhere I go recently – but explaining my new +1 and I met online is a real conversation starter!

I’d recommend the above methods to anyone. You’re under no obligation to go any further than being nosey and checking out a profile that tickles your fancy. But if you do decide to take it to the next level, it really couldn’t be easier.

And who knows, maybe one day it’ll help me settle down!

Such a perfect day

There is one event that everyone wants to be perfect and that is of course their wedding. When it is your own wedding obviously you will remember the day forever but you also want your guests to remember your wedding as one of the best they have been to.

A wedding is something that takes a lot of planning and organising, the build-up to the big day can fairly stressful as you try and make sure that every element is just right.

After the dust has settled on the engagement party and you’ve decided on the all-important date, the next thing on the agenda is the venue. Do you go for the traditional church and then on to another location for the reception or do you have the whole party in one place?

It can be difficult to decide on what best to do and you may find that everyone has an opinion on what would be the best thing to do for your big day. To me the best idea is to keep it all as simple as possible and the best way to do that is to keep the whole thing in one place. However if you are doing this then you want the venue to be somewhere pretty spectacular, The Manor in Somerset is just that. You can have the entire location, a stunning country house, just for you and your guests for the entire day. There is room to sleep up to 24 people and there are two different rooms that are licensed for your ceremony.

With fabulous extras such as on site catering and event’s organisers, your day is guaranteed to go without a hitch, all you have to do is give them a call and let them help you to organise your special day.

Love at first site

Why didn’t the skeleton go to the party? Because he had NO BODY to go with.

Aside from the obvious hilarious jokes, I like to give a bit of advice for the discerning socialite – and today it boils down to this: how do you decide who take with you to the numerous glamorous events you’re invited to over the year…(?)

Choosing a prospective date for an exclusive party – or even a chilled out BBQ – can be a potential landmine if they look good, but are as interesting as a grape. On the other hand, they may have a thought-provoking personality but a tendency to rub people up the wrong way – and this isn’t what you need as you try to charm your boss at the Christmas bash.

Finding the perfect match can be time consuming and – for those particularly snowed under with work or family – almost impossible. Relying on suggestions from friends, or getting involved with colleagues, can be risky business – but luckily there is a new way to find the perfect party pal.

We’re all familiar with the concept of social networking; chatting to friends online – and checking out the cute guy you stalk at the gym – are just some of the ways we utilise these sites to keep connected with our social circle. However, sites like Badoo are flipping that on its head and introducing a focus on dating, as well as social networking.

Discovering old friends – and hooking up with new ones – can be the ideal way to broaden your horizons and introduce new people into your life – and if that allows a romance to blossom, even better!

Don’t turn up to ANOTHER party alone as you hang out by the buffet crying into your sausage roll. Become the envy of the office as your date laughs at your jokes, opens doors and genuinely doesn’t mind the herbs stuck in your teeth…

Party time!

There is nothing like going to that perfect party, where whoever organised it appears to have thought of everything. Every tiny, little detail has been covered, the venue looks amazing, the food is incredible and the mix of people makes the atmosphere just right. These kinds of parties don’t come along very often and when they do they tend to have been organised by a professional and probably expensive, party or event planner.

I love to organise parties myself and have spent so much time online looking at amazing venues, caterers and cool decorations. I’m going to share all the great stuff I find with you so that if you can’t afford an event planner for your wedding, birthday or just that random party you want to throw, you’ll still be able to make it memorable. If you are lucky enough to be able to afford someone to do the planning for you then my tips will make sure that you go to them with loads of great ideas to get you started.

If you want your party to be talked about long after its finished then I will give you all the advice you need to make sure it is.
